The First Album - June 2005
“NOISE REDUXION” is the first album of the “ZONA D’OMBRA” and it has been completely realized from the members of the band without any sort of help from the outside, starting from the song writing to the CD production (artwork included). To better address the listening, we have created a definition of our musical genre, being the sound difficult to be catalogued. We do not have the presumption to have created a new field of the heavy metal, but rather we love to define our songs as SEMANTIC METAL, as in each one is present a “semantic” moment, which recalls to catching sonorities, symbols of our composition affinity and for the melodic interlacements of all the instruments.
The songs have been written down without any prefixed intention, but simply translating in music our ideas and inspirations, each one maintaining his own inspirations attitudes. Each song hold its own identity, without being at the antipodes, and however chained by a common mood which makes the album homogeneous. The lyrics of our songs talk of images and feelings which, even if not based upon personal experiences, belong to the daily life of us all.
The album contains nine songs, of which two instrumentals (random events and finally), which have been accurately placed to inspire precise emotions during the listening of the whole album. We wish to highlight the fact that all the songs inserted in the production of Noise ReduXion have been the only ones written down till now, no songs have been discharged or selected to be part of this project.
The overture has been assigned to Prayer for the Silent, whose main melody has been immediately assimilated and elaborated by all, to produce a chaining of riffs and continuous harmonies; to follow Light Speed running, whose starting riffs and the semantic irregular tempo exalt the technical level and the song impact (great swinging, edged grawls, voice/guitar alternating); Flare of gun owns great lyrics sustained by a powerful sound, due to thundering drums relentless all song long; the fourth Damned Soul has a particular structure, with endearing riffs and a central semantic moment, scanned by drums applied ad hoc; it is difficult to catalogue Re-Shape, which starts with fusion rhythms and sound to come back to heavy metal tones in the central part; the arrangements performed in Crystal Sky are ’80 sounding, with the bass line supporting a great feeling on the whole song. The instrumental Random events takes the name from the different styles and registry present in the music, melted among them in a natural way and without forcing; Black Lotus is the semantic song for definition, whose chaining bass/guitar in the opening and closure of the song, sustain a hard central part in which a text rich of images develops; lastly Finally, a bass/guitar instrumental song as closure of Noise ReduXion, of a semantic tapping bass melody which ends with its guitar revisiting
